Deck review: Mindscapes Tarot by John Rice

Windows In, Windows Out

Drawing inspiration from psychology, mythology, and color theory, the hand-painted oil pastel artwork in this unique tarot deck is healing, inspiring, and vibrates with childlike whimsy and natural beauty.

Originally conceived as a majors-only deck and Kickstarted in 2022, Mindscapes Tarot has evolved into a comprehensive journey of self-discovery through all 80 cards.

With the traditional suits renamed to reflect the changing panoramas they feature, the Minor Arcana is made up of Branches (Wands), Tides (Cups), Spires (Swords), and Stones (Pentacles). Each card from Ace through Ten depicts the same scene through the seasons and years, the same place in times of plenty and times of lack.

As you delve into the deck, you'll find yourself immersed in a realm where every stroke of color and form whispers secrets of the subconscious. No matter your skill level, you will be able to get answers from your readings and find authentic, creative solutions to your problems.

Allow each card to become a portal to a world of inner exploration, where the boundaries between myth and reality blur, and the depths of the soul are illuminated. With stunning artwork and profound symbolism, this deck is more than just a tool for divination - it's a catalyst for personal growth and transformation.

You can see the complete flickthrough on TikTok or Youtube. I posted two spreads, an interview spread and a Story Snapshot spread.

Book review: Tarot for Light Seers by Chris-Anne

Discover the meanings and symbolism of the tarot and travel the sunshine and shadow path of the Light Seer.

Tarot for Light Seers is filled with interpretations, keywords, prompts and spreads to help you decipher deeper meaning when reading tarot.

Expanding on the guidebook in The Light Seer's Tarot, this book takes a deep dive into the symbolism woven through the illustrations on each card and highlights the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith imagery that inspired the contemporary artwork. You will find a breakdown of the symbolism of each card alongside the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith card art for comparison.

Explore this collection of dreams, archetypes and stories as you walk the path of darkness and sunshine and channel the messages of the Light Seer. The relatable, contemporary characters help you to intuitively translate the card messages, and as you connect with their magic, they will become trusted guides bringing you closer to your inner landscapes and knowing.

Deck review: Transient Light Tarot by Ari Wisner and Fausta Joly

Unlock transformation, growth and joy with this beautifully crafted, plastic-free tarot deck and discover the powerful opportunities that can emerge from change.

Drawing inspiration and symbols from traditional tarot and personal experiences, illustrator Ari Wisner has created a diverse, innovative tarot deck that will show you the beauty at the core of change.

Whether joyful or painful, change can be utterly transformational - it is often followed by a new beginning in which we can find healing and growth. Ari explains that no matter what we've gone through - good or bad - we're being prompted by the universe to consider the important things in life.

Ari believes that everyone should be able to see themselves in these cards, regardless of gender identity, sexuality, ethnicity, ability, or body. The cards tell the story of transience, kindness and opportunity. They include traditional tarot archetypes that have been renamed to reflect a gender-neutral perspective, and objects and insightful symbols are used instead of the human body in most cards. Three bonus cards are also included - Past, Present, and Future - to be used in your practice however you desire.

Including 29 bespoke poems by Fausta Joly, the accompanying guidebook is full of insightful descriptions and empowering messages. Let the spirit of growth take the lead in your life and shift your focus from darkness to the bright, shining light of change and opportunity!

The Transient Light tarot is available now from Hay House. You can see the unboxing and flickthrough videos on TikTok.

The Witch's Wisdom Tarot Deck review

A brand-new tarot deck radiant with mystical energy by renowned American Wiccan Priestess Phyllis Curott and British Hedgewitch and artist Danielle Barlow.

The Witches' Wisdom Tarot brings users into the heart of what it means to be a Witch, a wise one who lives with reverence for the land, for life, and for the magic that flows through us.

The Witches' Wisdom Tarot is more than just a divination tool for Witches. Radiant with numinous energy and magical imagery, it is a doorway for everyone who wishes to encounter and understand the Sacred--in reals of Spirit, embodied by Nature, and residing within our hearts. Presented in a deluxe, large-size box, the cards are wrapped in an eco-friendly hessian bag alongside a comprehensive guidebook.
Best-selling Wiccan author Phyllis Curott and Hedgewitch Danielle Barlow journeyed for each of the images, spreads, and spells, seeking the divine wisdom of Mother Earth and diving deep beneath traditional archetypes and the ceremonial symbolism of the ubiquitous Rider-Waite-Smith deck.
The Minor Arcana reveal the primal sources of swords and wands, cups, and pentacles, drawing on the spiritual teachings of the elements. Each card immerses users in the beauty, wisdom, and embodied divinity of Nature and offers a mirror for them to recognize that they too are part of Nature. The Major Arcana will speak to users of any spirituality, age, race, or gender identity with culturally diverse mythological, archetypal, and sacred imagery, guiding them on their path of self-knowledge and purpose.
