Welcome to Total Tarot issue 14! In this issue we begin the John Bauer deck and learn about the Universal Actions spread. We also received the Four of Cups in the Golden Art Nouveau deck.
In Reading the Tarot this week, we learned about getting to know a new deck. I've found that my approach to new decks has altered over time, so it's great to read some tips and ideas from other readers here!
The Card in Detail is Death, possibly the most misunderstood card in the deck, the one that shows up in every horror movie! It's interesting to see how different artists have interpreted it.
Our Tarot Spread is the Universal Actions, a four card spread designed to help make a plan to achieve a specific goal. It's an interesting spread as the Querant selects the first card to represent their goal, and then the other three are blind dealt, with each card relating to each of the other three. It can be a complex but exciting read!
Tarot Deck Library talks about the John Bauer deck. This wasn't designed as a deck; Bauer was an illustrator of folklore and children's books, and some of his illustrations were used to create this deck. It means they don't always exactly match, which makes for interesting reading!
Finally we've got the view of all the Majors, and a few tips and tricks. Next issue, the remaining John Bauer cards!
