Total Tarot issue 13

In Total Tarot Issue 13, we received the second half of the Vice Versa deck, and the Three of Swords in the Golden Nouveau deck.

Reading the Tarot this week is about symbols in tarot. Although of course tarot artists are free to interpret the cards in any way that suits them, there are symbols with acknowledged meanings, and knowing them makes using different decks easier.

The Card in Detail features the Justice card, the card of fairness and legal matters. Looking at the samples from other decks, it's fascinating how many feature scales, a sword or both!

The Tarot Spreads article features the Card of the Day spread - is it a spread with only one card? Either way, this is the way most readers start to learn their decks, one card at a time. The article includes some good tips about how to interpret it and even suggests using a second card in the evening as a sort of follow up reading.

The Tarot Deck Library article is about this issue's deck, the Vice Versa deck. The Vice Versa is a two sided deck, showing the familiar scene on one side and what the characters are looking at on the other side. It's very inventive and reading about the genesis of it is fascinating. The article includes the meaning for all the Minor arcana.

Finally there are a few tips for your practise. Next issue we start a new deck and learn about a new spread!
