First Draw

The first card I drew was the Four of Cups. A man sits at a table, staring at three chalices. His expression is bored or upset. Behind him, unseen, a woman is bringing him a fourth one. Above them, a cat is eyeing the real prize - a fish swimming calmly in his fishbowl! Like the man and the fish, we never know what's coming next in life, so we shouldn't get discouraged. Something interesting will be along.

First Connection

Later, I drew The High Priestess for a first gentle “handshake” with the deck. She sits at a table in a tent, staring into a crystal ball, with tarot cards laid out in front of her. A cat has mischievously knocked runestones from a pouch, and the crystal ball glows with a subtle spiral. I found myself drawn to the runestones - they felt like small, hidden messages, subtle guidance waiting to be noticed.

This interaction showed me how the deck wants to work with me: gently, intuitively, and playfully. It nudges me to observe small details, embrace curiosity, and notice the unexpected. Even a tiny spark of awareness is meaningful, and the deck seems ready to meet me with patience and a touch of whimsy.

Closing Thoughts

I'm looking forward to working with this one! I think it's going to be interesting to read with and it's definitely bright and cheerful. I can't wait to dig in and see how it works.

Do you find the Everyday Witch playful, distracting, or quietly insightful — and how many cats is too many cats, really?
