The Moon Dust Tarot by Florance Saul

The power of the moon is at your fingertips…

Based on the online tarot deck that has uplifted and enlightened millions of people since its launch in 2017, this is the one and only official physical Moon Dust Tarot Deck. Connect with your spirit on a higher level, commune with the wisdom of the moon, stars and the universe, and find new meaning in the Tarot with this beautiful deck sumptuously presented in sparkling gold foil!

Psychic and occult expert Flo presents the 78 classic tarot cards, illustrated with stunning artworks sprinkled with moon dust that shed new light and meanings on the classic imagery with insight from dreams and lunar wisdom.

The accompanying booklet provides interpretations of all the cards, including keywords, inspiring poems intuited by Flo and readings for both upright and reversed cards. Elevate your lunar connection to the next level, find answers, hone your intuition and transform your life.

The Moon Dust Tarot is available now from Watkins Publishing. You can see the unboxing and flickthrough videos on TikTok.

The Moon Dust Tarot is a beautiful, ethereal deck, joining my list of 'limited palette shouldn't work but really does'. Designed mostly in muted purples and other light colors, this deck is a joy to work with. It's RWS based so if you know that style, you can start working with it straight away.

The cards are a little larger than standard tarot size, housed in a sturdy box with a lid that fits down over it from above. The book talks about the inspiration for the card - the Sumarian goddess Ishtar, mistress of love and fertility - and discusses the format of the deck and how to conduct a reading. There are spreads for various stages of the moon's cycle. The largest of these spreads is 22 cards! I haven't worked up to that one yet, but I've tried one appropriate spread and look forward to trying more at the right time.

Now we're into card meanings. Majors and Minors alike have two pages; a small image of the card, a short poem summarizing the meaning, keywords, upright and reversed meanings, and a nice long description of the card's image and how it relates to the meaning. The whole set up is great, but I do find that the card images are a little small to get anything from - though I'm quite short sighted, so it could just be me! There's plenty of information here for beginners and more experienced readers alike.

Now, the cards. They have this beautiful, non-reversible design on the back;

As I mentioned above, most cards are colored in purples, pinks, mauves and blues, sprinkled with glittery moon dust, but there are some exceptions.

The color palette works beautifully, highlighting what we need to see without blocking out other details. And there are a lot of details in these cards, a lot of layers to unpick and understand.

This is one of those decks where I had a lot of trouble picking just a few for photos - I could have included half the deck without a problem - but I have narrowed it down. The full flickthrough is linked above if you'd like to see more examples.

Love that rose quartz Tower!

This isn't the most straightforward deck to use right off - I've dealt a couple of spreads and stared at them for several minutes until I found the way in - but as I got used to them, I found it easier and easier. They definitely have some good insights, I just had to 'tune in' to them! If you're finding them confusing, don't give up; keep at it, I promise it's worth it in the end. I really love this deck and I look forward to adding it to my rotation.
