Guest deck review: Ravyness Drakon Tarot by Beth Seilonen

Sometimes people walk into our lives. Sometimes they fly in upon a dragon's wing. This is the love story of an unlikely pair, a raven and a dragon, with their own lives and their own goals, who are drawn back to each other time and again. Through the ups and downs experienced by any pair from very different worlds, their story proves that any creature--anyone--can move through rough times to achieve life goals and to love both themselves and others. This fantastical deck of 78 cards beautifully illustrates how awareness of both the light and dark components of the self and how they affect our life can empower one to make a plan to improve and to grow. Follow Ravyness and Drakon through their Tarot journey, as they reflect and give that gentle, supportive nudge to one another to become their higher selves. The context and story line easily connect to the human experience, encouraging growth within relationships as well as personal growth. Inspired by the creator's work as a teacher and her part in a nationwide movement to show high school students how to make healthy choices for their future.

Ravyness drakon Tarot ! Get ready for a magical and surprising adventure with this one . The 78 cards come in a very attractive and high quality case style box .
The energy is absolutely enthralling and I can see myself getting years and years of joy out of its images and insights. The 175 page book takes you on a journey with the Raven and the Dragon. It reads like new folklore and is a pleasure to read and immerse yourself in , in and of itself .
The illustrations remind me of that sort of psychedelic side of fantasy art that graced space rock concept album covers in my younger days .
Beth Seilonen has that similar air of a conceptual artist about her and her work. In a truly graceful and ethereal sense. Beth is prolific in the art of creating Tarot decks with over 100 to her credit!
That's a big part of why this deck feels so special. Her expertise shows itself throughout its clever, layered, complex, poetic and powerful healing.
Each card is described vividly and dreamily in its aesthetic sense. Along with an insightful interpretation of what's going on. As well as reversal explanations. All within around 3 paragraphs. Part of the beauty and wisdom of this deck lies in the interpretation of the reversals, the introduction explains " The reversals are seen as alternative positives. It is with an open mindset that the concept of "negative"can be released from the conversation when working with this deck. "
Inspired by her own true love story, Drakon and Ravyness lead us to the best versions of ourselves, woven with the symbolism of "love language"heart shaped lockets for (gifts) timepiece for (time), a key (act of service.) Tree Goddesses (affirmations) and ghostly forms (touch) .
Expect to find yourself outside the usual realms of traditional tarot, embrace that ! And you will have a deck that offers comfort, companionship, as well as guidance.
The deck suggestions are simple , a 9 card "reality of personality" spread and a classic 3 card spread called the "art of change". There is a lot of encouragement and space to use the deck intuitively and creatively. And that's another big part of the magic at play here, it seems to hold a light to your own creative energy. Unlocking potentials and supporting existing whims.
It's a very inspirational deck, and a deep spiritual dive. More suited for the experienced Tarot practitioner, it's bold and unique in flavour . And will always have you wanting more.
