Welcome to Issue 4! With this issue we start collecting the Thelema Deck, a digitally created deck based on the RWS - so a slight departure from the decks we've received so far! We also have the Ace of Pentacles in the Golden Art Nouveau.
Readings the Tarot discusses reading for yourself - a tricky thing, as you know what outcome you're hoping for so the temptation is to bend the meanings to suit yourself! The article gives some tips for avoiding this and suggests the Card of the Day, which is both a great way to practise and less open to interpretation than a whole spread! Illustrations here are from the Vice Versa Deck, due with Issues 12 & 13.Tarot Techniques talks about the Catch 22 of reading; people want to know what's going to happen in the future, but you don't want them to resign all responsibility, as Tarot is a signpost, not a single lane road! Illustrations come from the John Bauer Deck, due with Issues 14 & 15.
The Tarot Spread is the Greater Wisdom Spread, a six card spread designed to get past the obvious and find the hidden wisdom underneath. Although the Spread is designed for the whole deck, the sample Golden Art Nouveau are all Majors, which would make this a very significant reading! Meanings are discussed on the next page.
The Visual Reference is for the Major Arcana of the Thelema Deck.
Card in Detail is the Empress, with the usual mix of keywords, descriptions and samples from other decks. You don't want me to keep blathering about it!
Tarot Deck Library talks about the Thelema Deck, including a phrase for each of the 78 cards to help readers connect with the deck.
The Glossary covers G, H and I. I'm intrigued to see what will happen when we get to the end of the alphabet!
