Wednesday Spread: Curious Cats Spread, Witch's Cat Tarot

Happy Wednesday, all! We're working with the Witch's Cat Tarot deck from Watkins, a cute and fluffy deck with surprising depth. Now, the LWB doesn't include any spreads, so I've designed one that I hope will show off the deck to its' best advantage! I've included the positions and meanings at the end if you'd like to use the spread - I'd love to know how it works for you!

Whisker of the Day: Crone of Paws (Queen of Pentacles)

Surrounded by snowdrops, daffodils and candles, this Queen knows how to take care of herself. She's practical and hardworking. Take some time to line up your practicalities and do your prep; it'll make life much easier.

Tail Flick: Zen Cat (Temperance)

Stay calm and cool and things will flow much more easily. Stay quiet when that colleague annoys you; don't celebrate too loudly when things go your way. Your day will sail by.

Paw in the Pot: Sage of Paws (King of Pentacles)

Surrounded by pine cones, orange slices and holly - all the bounty of winter - this king is hard working and generous and he loves to lift others up. If this is you, congratulations! This is a position that many people struggle to reach.

Hidden Cat: Ten of Claws (Ten of Swords)

Things end. It's sad, but it's true. But if you pay attention, they often continue in another form - as this cat is doing. Don't be too sad when something ends. It will go on another way.

Sleeping Cat: Sacred Cat (Hierophant)

The Hierophant represents structure and tradition. This can be anything from church, legal institutions to your own job. The important thing is - it's there. You can trust it. Not everything is down to you! There's a structure there that you can lean on for support when you need it - don't be afraid to look for help if you need it.

What an interesting read! Two Majors, two Pentacles and a Sword - definitely a practical, hard working deck. 

🐱 Curious Cats Five-Card Spread

Layout: A little semicircle of five cats sitting in a line.

Positions & Meanings:

1. Whisker of the Day (Center-Left)

   • The mood or theme for the day. What energy the cats are bringing with them.

2. Tail Flick (Center)

   • What you should be aware of or watch carefully today — a little “nudge” from the deck.

3. Paw in the Pot (Center-Right)

   • Where growth or progress is happening. Shows where you’re learning or gaining.

4. Hidden Cat (Far Left)

   • Something unexpected or behind-the-scenes that may appear. Can also reflect subconscious or subtle guidance.

5. Sleeping Cat (Far Right)

   • What you can release, rest from, or let go of. Where you don’t need to force anything.
